Martin Beckmann, the author of a transformative die-linkage study of the aurei and sestertii of Faustina I, has published a similar study of the coinage of Faustina II. It is set to be released on 1 June. You may pre-order a copy on Amazon.

Of course I will be interested!

What will Beckmann have to say, for example, about the dates of birth and death of Marcus' and Faustina's numerous children, and about the order and absolute chronology of Faustina's coiffure types during the reign of Marcus?

I will be interested to learn how Beckmann's dates compare with Paul Dinsdale's, which I've always looked for ever since I learned about his (unpublished) book on the coins of Antoninus Pius & Marcus Aurelius and their spouses. On the other hand, I'm not sure I want to spend $150 plus postage on another coin book, right after I finally bit the bullet and ordered a copy from Spink in the UK of the 2021 printing of David Sear's Imperators book -- 50 GBP, or just under $100 with shipping.
