On April 26 I pulled 43 out of $200.00 in bank rolls I got from a BB&T branch in Columbia S.C.

I don’t get how these coins are brand new. Some scratched but some things different. 136B92E5-F05F-474A-A6CC-F1626EE8E4A4.jpeg

Doesn't the mint put something like a ton of these coins all in one great big heavy duty bag? A bag that size/weight, they must use a forklift or something to handle them. That's got to be hard on the quarters.

Here's a video showing what quarters go through at the mint.

Do you think what is by the nose was a chunk of the ear? Although all coins are unique in their own way, these are all so different. 57A6B930-2B3A-4BC3-8A29-FA0AF36C1AF1.png 84924059-564A-4698-BC7C-6EBA3B0C4696.jpeg

Wish me some Washingtons crossing this weekend!!! I have yet to see one in real life...

Just picked them up today...I'm slow, mostly not mentally, so let's see how many I can get through :woot: And by 'slow' I mean 'thorough' of course!:sorry::smuggrin:

Nice! Yes it’s slow but thorough. I rather not have a roll of all the same coin. That is for sure an assortment. Have fun!

I don't know if I see a die chip, where do you see it? I'm seeing some heavy dings, maybe it was at the bottom of a Mint bin, and then at the bottom of a Loomis bin too? Luck of the draw.

I'm seeing maybe some struck through small debris marks there too, just need a sharper pic.

...Need a sharper pic to see but the face looks like maybe machine/ejection doubling. Sharper pic of In God We Trust too if you can... Possibly I'm seeing some machine doubling on the UNITED on the reverse too.

If those are cellphone photos try taking the pic from a couple inches farther away, to me it just looks like it was maybe just slightly too close to be able to focus sharply :snaphappy:

I posted those to show the damage new coins go through. But my first posting I did a side by side. His hair at top. But yes hard to get photos. I’m going to get a magnifier to hook up to computer. Good luck. It was just coincidental that my husband brought 2 rolls of all Washington’s. Just amazed on how damaged some are. But then coins go through a lot as one posted.

Not only can the coin press make over 700 coins per minute, but yes they get launched into very large bins. Then many of those are poured into other large bins as they are counted and or binned again and counted and rolled at even higher speeds by coin vendors like Loomis. Those coins move FAST!!!
A lot of coins are still bagged and not handled so gently either. It's amazing any of the rolls not coming directly from the mint end up with things like MS68 coins to find!

I am getting a chip to my camera today. Take some good shots and get developed and will send to a contact I know. Yes a marking looks like coin machine but pretty deep for being a whole roll of the same quarters so these never been in hand other than the processing.
