    Top - Thailand

Bottom - Taiwan, Chinese Republic Year 65 (1976)

I don't have access to my catalogs right now, so that"s all I can say off the top of my head.

The one not shown in your other post is a bronze Japanese ¥10, but the blurry picture doesn't show the date clearly enough to read it.

The combined value of all three is <$1.

The Thai one looks like a 1 baht, Y#183 minted 1986-1997.

Could you provide a clearer picture? I'm not as good with Japanese as Hontonai, but I can tell you the date if I can read the numerals.

unforunatly my scanner is not working right, what side of the coin is the date on, the side with the 10, or with the building

The date is on the side you have pictured. The side with the ten. If you can't take clearer scans, you could draw the symbols. I have a guide on how to date these also.

Top picture is Thailand 1 baht. KM 183. Very common circulation coin. Value is generally $0.10 in uncirculated grade. I believe the date is BE 2534 (1991)

ok, i used the chart on he link, and determined it to be in the showa era, 1926 - 1989. knowing the last symbol is "year", what about the other 3. they look like they might be a 4 10 4, but not sure. again, sorry about the poor scan.

If it says Showa 4 10 4, that would mean year 44, which would equal 1969 AD. Your coin was made in that year (1959-1988), so that date is probably correct. Emperor Showa is known as Hirohito to most of us Westerners.

    Read it as 4 x 10 + 4.
During his lifetime, He was known by that name to the Japanese also. "Showa" was the name assigned to his regnal era. After his death he became "the Showa Emperor", not "Emperor Showa".

His son, Emperor Akihito, will be known as "the Heisei Emperor" after his death brings an end to the current Heisei Era.

I know that Hirohito was known by his given name during his lifetime, but technically his name is now Emperor Showa. The name used for their reign is also used as their posthumous name. Hirohito was Showa, and Akihito will be Hesei.

Not the first time, and assuredly not the last time, that I have a disagreement with Wikipedia and its inexpert editors!

Proper translation of "Showa Tenno" is "the Showa Emperor", not "Emperor Showa" according to every educated Japanese speaking person I know.
