I have several coins and am trying to figure out value. Also to find an appraiser in my area that can be trusted. The first coin is an old Mormon coin it states on the front To The Lord Holiness and on the back it has pure gold, ten dollars 1849 and a pair of hands shaking. I know this coin is very rare and there where only 10 made and most of them at the time where melted down. But my question is, can you give me any tips to see if it is real? Second coin/token has a My Substitute * For the U.S. Bank and in the middle it has a figure and it states expiriment My Currency My Glory on the back it has Credit* Perish Commerce 1824 My Victory in the middle with a running boar under the boar it states "Down with the Bank" 1824 Third coin/token has Blake & Co. Assayers and a 20 in the middle on the other side it has California Gold SAC 20 dollars with a scale in the middle with SMV under one side and .900 on the other dated 1856 Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks
1st of, welcome to the forum. You will really need to try and get pics both front and back to really get any type of value appraisal.
One way to tell if it's real or not depends on where you got it from. Ebay=fake. Aside from a major auction buy, I would have to bet fake. You can always send it in to a TPG for a definitive answer. Guy~
Actually, I bought a picture frame at a yard sale and several where hidden in the back of it in coin holder that slides in like the back of the frame does.
