I was playing with the SLQ set this morning and thought I'd post some photos. Note that the ones in ICG slabs were mostly purchased raw. We don't have the 1918-S/17 overdate, but I did buy a raw 18-S recently (I'm tracking it's progress!) that has the top of the "7" under the "8" but I don't know if it will grade as an overdate because the "7" doesn't go through the bottom part of the 8, it's just the top of the 7. I am curious to find out. Anyway, I'm always working on improving the set (unfortunately on a budget) that me and my youngest son started in an album 5 years ago, before he went off to college. 16to17d.JPG 19to24.JPG 24dto28.JPG 24dtomedal.JPG 16to24.JPG

Nice set. I like the SLQ's. I have a partial set all found in circulation when I was in grade school and high school. I had a bunch with no dates on them. To get good ones you need to do it the way you are.

Thanks for sharing your set with us. I only have one SLQ but it is one of my favorite coin designs.

Amazing. I found two in circulation. They're some of my favorites.

I like the SLQ as well. I have to that are in G to F shape, but I would not give them away or sell them. I've had them since I was 11. My grandfather gave them to me in 1957.

Awesome set, even better that it's a long project started with your son.

The best one I remember finding in circulation was a 1918 in maybe VF condition, with full date and great, circulated color. My father found a 1927-D that now resides in a PCGS AU55 holder. Not bad for a quarter! I'm working on a PCGS Registry Set and have maybe 2/3rds of the dates, mostly in MS65. Know what's the toughest one to find for sale in any grade above VF? Not the 1916 or the 21 or 23-S, but the 1927-S.
