Ok I got one for you ancient guys...

    got this years back with an assortment of crusted over tiny romans.. this was the only silver and have had zero luck IDing it.. so i turn to the guys who know what their talking about..     true but as I don't know for sure that it IS an ancient I placed it openly. I suspect it is ancient as i recieved it with numerous small ancients.. a few that cleaned up well...... OK I didn't even think of that lol I am more then slightly overmedicated at moment..

    It looks like a hammered Pfennig, like those issued in the area of modern-day Austria and East Germany in the 12th-16th centuries.

    If I had to guess, I'd say it was an Ottoman silver akce. I once found one in a lot of uncleaned ancients (the Balkans, where many uncleaned lots come from, were once under Ottoman rule), akces are indeed smaller in diameter than a dime and very thin, and, if I squint at your photos, I can _almost_ make out traces of the inscription. Almost.

    Yeah, most likely. Where many ancients are found these are the most common, least valuable silver things in the ground.
