These 2 came from an eBay win. They are consecutive Kansas City replacement notes having only 1 run of 320K total. They are crisp uncirculated and fit in with the set I'm putting together.
This is a new on-line acquisition signed by Mary Ellen Withrow who served under Bill Clinton (1994-2001). It is a $2-1995 series replacement note with a lower run of 512K. It is my 1st autographed note.
Nice, Ploughman £5 are scarce to begin with, then with Hibernian Bank so much scarcer. Must have been Irish note day at your place what with the war code £10. I picked up an early £20 from Scotland just recently, not even an Edinburgh bank! Will post soon.
I've been buying lots of Irish an' Scots lately. I'm really into "all Ireland" and N. Ireland and early Free State stuff. With the posts so mussed up I am still waiting for some NI notes from Belfast.
It's not a piece of paper money, but I figured I'd post it anyway since it seemed relevant to the subject. Regardless, it'll make a nice addition to my small but growing collection of reference books.
These were "living" in a book inherited by a friend from his parents. I don't believe either is particularly rare or valuable, but still a cool find.
Hmm, another from Scotland: £20 was just a tonne of dosh back when this was issued, it was the then equivalent approximately $97 in value. It was printed by American Banknote Company's British subsidiary Bradbury Wilkinson. These early Scots are much scarcer than the Bank of England notes from that era, but are oft overlooked by collectors.
