With best wishes to you for happy, healthy holidays . . . Sincerely, eBay Take 10% off your next purchase* Save up to $100 Expires Dec 14, 2009 See details below How do you think the ebay 10% off coupon is best used? Here's another thread about it: http://www.cointalk.com/t80221/
On a coin priced at around $1000 that you've been watching for awhile but have held off until now If you don't have something in mind already, find a seller who is selling approximately $1000 of junk silver or silver rounds/bars that are currently priced close to melt prices. Then with your 10% off you'll save around $100 and get the silver for less than melt.
But then I'd have a bunch of junk silver that I wouldn't want! lol Too bad gold is high instead of in a trough. I guess I'll take your first suggestion and find something nice.
If I had the coupon, I'd buy a 1909S VDB cent; wrap it up; and place it under the tree from Santa to me.
I use mine as soon as possible, so i do not forget about these rare deals. I usually wait for a purchase over $25. i tried to use the coupon to pay for multiple purchases at once, but ebay is too smart for that and only gives the discount on the first item. Anyway, its always nice to get a coupon. Traci
I don't know why I received the discount. I didn't bid on anything during the troubled time. Maybe because I had a bunch of auctions saved? The coupon caused me to look at all the rebate craziness that I had previously ignored. As far as I can tell, Krugarrands carry the least markup from spot. I priced them at AMEX. (USD $1234 + $25 s/h = $1259) Looking at ebay sales as they closed showed sales around that price. (LOL, and really not much higher! Tightwads!) I found a buy it now for $1260 including shipping. Used the $100 coupon. Received 25 ebay bucks. Am promised $125 bing cash rebate. I think that means I might lay claim to having paid $1010 USD for an ounce Krugerrand!
Nice price on the Krugerrand! I don't even remember what I used my coupon on. LOL But I didn't get very big of a discount
