I collect everything from US coins, World Coins, Hard Times Tokens, Civil War tokens, Conder Tokens.....I guess it should be, what don't I collect:goofer: Stefanie
Yes, I've seen some of your tokens, quite a collection!! Good to see you around, you have a phenomenal collection!! :kewl:
Did someone say tokens? I collect Conder tokens and along the way I'm also collecting a U.S. type set. I'm also on a quest to build an 1893 P toned uncirc. mint set.
Thank you Stefanie for your nice comments. I'd sure like to have the ones you've posted pics of on many of the coin boards. As I've said before, I can't keep up with your collecting prowess!
HA! For a while I was thinking that "fire stick" meant matches. I couldn't believe that so many people here collected matches...
Burned Out Had a FRIEND try those paper things for a while. He soon burned out on it. I wish I had a complete type set of Ruger~rands of my own, though.
Present collection has most U.S. denominations from pennies to Saints. If and when price of silver stops going up, will unload a bunch of lower quality silver and concentrate on the SUV of American coins..the Morgan.
Working on a set of Standing Liberty QT in XF to MS65. Not concerned with 1916 or 1918-17s. -O) I like small currency also., like fractionals, MPC, SC, NB, FRN, Gold Cert.
"Fire sticks" be "fire arms" Kemo sabe...... Don't know how to direct you Fret as I collect whatever stikes my fancy. Could be modern commem's. Could be proof and mint sets. Could be the classics. So much beautiful stuff out there it really is difficult at times to remain focused in one area. There is nothing wrong with that. The minute you put restrictions on yourself you ain't havin' fun, and fun is what this hobby is all about.....
Changing direction or expanding?? I have collected coins for years and still do, but recently I've gotten into $2 dollar bills. I have some world currency (paper) from travels, but the US $2 notes somhow facinate me. Now I keep looking for fine specimens.
Morgans (66 or (gasp) better) At least for the non-key dates. I have three so far. I also collect raw uncirculated Lincolns, Jeffersons, Roosevelts, and Washingtons. I completed the Roosevelts already, but The Lincolns are proving to be an expensive venture... especially the 20's. I keep them in 2X2's in a huge binder with the clear slip sleaves. That book weighs a ton, but I'm pretty proud of it. Someday I hope to start on Mercury's.... No wonder I'm always broke :headbang:
Well Fret as i said before I collect everything. however, I do have a special mission to collect every coin minted anywhere in the world in the year 1888. I have dozens of them now, looks like this will be a life long project. Traci
The Chinese think the number 8 is a lucky number. I have 1 coin an 1888 Mexican 8 reallies with a Chinese chop mark of 8. Total 5 eights = very lucky. That is why i collect the 1888's. Traci
I am working on a complete US Type Set, focusing on coin quality rather than key-dates, although if I can find a key-date at excellent quality I will try to pick that up too. I am only 11.68% into the set, but I picked up some very nice coins so far thanks to Chris at Heritage and Laura over at Legend. I have my eye on some real nice coins coming up to auction at Heritage this January. Can't wait to see the full catalog this year... Take a look: http://www.pcgs.com/setregistry/publishedset.aspx?s=53129&ac=1 My favorite has to be the g$2.5, g$5, g$10 indians... same with buffalo nickel... will end up doing a set of g$10's probably.
Mainly original surface double eagles and eagles. I just added a 1882-O original surface eagle today to the collection. It has that nice, "European bank vault" toning to it.
