never been to hot springs, but is the fountain in front of the park building the best thing about that park to put on a coin???? seems pretty lame. The others don't seem horrible, but this series is unnecessary after the state quarters. will only collect them through my purchase of the annual proof and mint sets.

i'm still holding out for the county pennies program!!!!

Some nice designs, doubt the ones I like will get picked.

Will say though that I am getting a tad burned out on all the quarter "series". Great to get newbie collectors but other then that, I lost interest trying with the statehood.

I like the reverses a lot. But can't we do something about that ugly big head on the Obverse. How about puting the Washington on horse 50 cent commemorative image Obverse on all the quarters. Traci :kewl:

this series already looks lame. Sure im going to collect them only because their cheap and easily found in change, but i would never buy proof ones or anything above face value for them.

These may not be as easy to find in change as the state quarters were. The Fed announced that unlike the state quarter, the banks will NOT be able to request boxes of the new Parks quarters. No special ordering periods, and requests for quarters will be filled with whatever happens to be on hand.

Me too I think it is a great idea and with all the new break throughs in mordern medicen maybe I will live long enough to put together a set of them. I wish they had decided on ten a year so they could get sarted on City Penny that would be sure to follow. i have lived in several Counties in Texas, but dozens of cities and think of the places I've visited I could get a penny form each city and it wouldn't have to be elongated to say where it was from. In fact maybe they could do that with the Jefferson Nickel and then I could collect both cents and nickels at the same time.
I do hate the quarters want be available to banks in rolls on demand I guess Ebay will make even more profit from this than the '09 nickel and dime.

fine. With over a hundred designs, getting it in your change might be a good idea (buying a special box from the bank is NOT getting it from change)

I was a little kid when we went to Hot Springs, but as I recall the hot springs baths are quite an attraction - both today and for decades. Maybe that's a tie-in with the fountain.
