50’s Proof Quarter Error?

Would this be an error coin? I’ve seen several 10’s of thousands and don’t recall ever seeing a distraction this large. Lamination?

That’s a little funny looking for struck through debris, I think. I’m thinking it was on the planchet. Doesn’t take much to mess those surfaces up, they’re so delicate.

 

Difficult to tell from those photos, but I will tell you that the coin has been highly polished.

 

Welp, I will have in hand within a few days. Highly polished? Fill me in on what you see. It’s a proof and polishing proofs would seem odd.

 

Lack of detail in Washingtons hair and the Eagles breast would make me doubt it is a proof, but I've been wrong before, so hope I'm wrong now, for your sake. Let us know when the coin is in hand.

 

Coin arrived today. It's definitely a proof, and I'll add proofs are a favorite of mine. I'm however, not an error expert, varieties yes, errors no. Took some quick pics with my ancient digital scope. Also noticed a weird shape to the viewers right of the eagles head, and a strange mark on the reverse rim area.
The blob on the obverse almost looks like a piece of plastic? Or maybe an amoeba?
