Yes. You cannot make subsequent posts to the same thread in the BST section but you can edit the original post you've made as you wish and see fit in that section; that part of the forum does not have arbitrary editing or deletion limits like the rest of the forum does.
I'd guess it depends on the policy of the sales venue. I've seen items pulled on eBay prior to the end of bidding. @NOS replied to selling on CT.
