I'm currently selling a bunch of coins on ebay for a friend, and I was wondering how much I should sell them for in comparison to red book prices? 50%? Also, I have a bunch of indian pennies, and they are brown, but they have weird residue on them, that is the same color of brasso. These coins were owned by a banker ( I know this for a fact), and it doesn't seem like a banker would dip their coins, does anyone know if this is common on indian pennies?
Remember....bankers aren't collectors and most of them could care less what happens to the coins...I wouldn't doubt that a banker cleaned his coins... Look on ebay at completed auctions and then set your price for them... Here is what most common coins will go for... IHC--$.75-$1.00 Wheats $.03-$.05 War Nickels $.40 Buff Nickels $.40-$.50 Silver Quarters $.75-$1.00 Halves $2.50-$3.00 Dollars $8.00-$10.00 If you list the coins that you are selling we might be able to help you with the prices. Check your PM.... Speedy
Silver quarters have about $1.30 worth of silver in them at today's prices. Can they really be purchased on Ebay for $.75? I guess I should be checking.
I don't know a dealer that charges more than $1.25 per silver quarter...$.75 is about what dealers buy them for... Speedy
Not sure about quarters. May not include other charges. Recently spot checked some 40% halves for sale on ebay. My recollection is one seller was not able to get any bids for eleven average looking circulated halves at 99 cents minimum each, probably because the shipping, handling, and insurance charges brought the total cost to 3.25xface. Believe that was representative of several similar auctions at the time. Willie
