Okay you variety specialists, I know there are a ton of OMM for the 1955-D/S and would like to know which one my coin is and whether NGC recognizes it? The coin is currently graded by NGC but is not attributed as a 1955-D/S.

Need closeup of the "D" and its position with the building Please. The rest is unnecessary "fluff." Only two choices:

    1. Not OMM.
    2. OMM that NGC graders missed.

PS I :bucktooth: had no idea there were so many D/S varieties until you :bookworm: wrote that.

I don't have a microscope, that is as close as I can get.

Most closely approximates the 009, however, I do not see the die markers, so??

That's the one I was thinking also, maybe my coin is MDS.

I enlarged it for you . It's a little blurry though.

It looks almost like this to me.

Another possibility, however, the anomaly appears to be confined to the "D." Can you photo full rev?

The obverse die markers are hard to see with the glare in the photo but I just checked the coin under a loupe and they are definitely there. The reverse die marker is plainly evident in the first photo, I am confident that you have nailed it Detective Danomite.

    Thank you very much.

Now, onto phase two, does anyone know if NGC attributes this OMM? The NGC Variety Plus page seems very ambiguous on the subject.

    That is a great coin!
Tough in 66, even without the OMM.
