“Representative Frank Lucas (R - OK), who has collected coins for most of his life, introduced legislation late last year to legalize previously illegal-to-own US coin rarities. These included the 1933 $20 gold piece, 1964 D Peace Dollar, and the 1974 aluminum pennies, among others. This legislation was quietly passed into law on March 12, 2021, thus legalizing ownership of these rare coins. Since then, a 1964 D Peace Dollar, whose existence was previously unknown, was submitted to the Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) (NASDAQ: CLCT) for grading and authentication. After confirming authenticity with the US Mint using the original 1964 hubs still in the US Mint archives, the rarity was certified by PCGS, according to a March 29 article on their website. The owner, who has requested to remain anonymous at this time, says he plans on consigning the coin with Heritage to be auctioned during their Platinum Night auction in January 2022.” Read more here: https://www.foxnews.com/science/ext...er-new-legislation-quietly-passed/4-1-2021/jk Image courtesy of PCGS CoinFacts edited - if you wanna post that pic ya gotta link to it edited (TC) - hyperlink to image added
