Just opened a customer wrapped quarter roll. 39 quarters and 2 pennies. I rolled it back up with 40 quarters and kept searching. Don’t want any bad karma. Not the first time something like this has happened but it’s pretty annoying lol. Your thoughts?
Welcome to the world of coin roll hunting. You win some, you lose some. EDIT: I also dump my searches in a machine so I don't have to worry about short rolls on that end. That being said, I would fill it to the proper number because like you said, karma.
I was looking through rolls for the elusive "W Quarters" last week one roll was a quarter short, so I filled it, a couple rolls later one had 41 in it! Go figure...
Yep. I agree. Sometimes I get an extra quarter and sometimes I get a nickel instead lol. I kind of stopped CRHing recently. Not really worth my time... There isn’t much silver in circulation anymore, haha.
I CRH more for the zen time than the finds. If I happen to find some good stuff, that's awesome. If not, it at least gave me a good bit of time to zone out and relax.
Could be worse. I purchased a roll of 1964 Kennedy halves from a big box coin dealer to only get 19. And they all had milk spots. When I called them out on it they told me to take a hike. I did.
OTOH I have opened dime rolls and found 52-53 dimes and a silver one to boot. I like finding dimes in cent rolls, but sometimes I find cents crammed into dime rolls. But one time it was a nearly BU 1943 steelie.
Please see my contest thread, if you haven't entered already. (I've lost track of who I've wished luck to, lol)
Do you think that was intentional or not? I'm sure that if he didn't do it on purpose, he probably assumed that you were just trying to get a free 90% silver Kennedy. Even still, he should have given you one and not risk hurting his reputation. I bet you didn't buy from them again lol.
You can’t return the dime in the cent roll. Sometimes you’re short and other times you’re over. All you can do is make it correct to keep the bank you deal with happy.
Are you kidding me!! They've been pulling crap like that for 25 years. I would have thought that someone would have burned them out by now.
