"I gonna have to crack it outta the slab (hate doing that lol)" I put blank planchets in the empty holes when I've purchased slabbed coins rather than breaking the slab and investment proving they aren't counterfeit. I also don't consider a full album to mean a complete collection if FE and IHCs. http://members.iphouse.com/frech001/Al's Flying Eagle and Indian Head Cent Complete Design Set.pdf
That is a possibility, I have done similar with a few of my large cents that I just couldn't bring myself to crack out for the album. on the other hand waiting for the next "penny" deal from one of the pcgs I could get the whole set slabbed (most of them are MS in my good book) simply said, slabs didn't exist at the time i started this set so it wasn't a option, but putting out $500+ for a mass slabbing is not an easy decision to come to much cheaper to crack one or two out for appearence sake. My newer sets/restarted sets are all presently 100% slabbed... what one of the PCGs needs to come out with is a "set slabbing" deal.. Lots of people that would like to have large sets done but the cost is too prohibitive... of course there is also always "self slabbing"... Damn it Frech001 you got me thinking and that's always dangerous lol
You can also put a lower grade coin in the blank hole with a note to the slabbed coin. Though I like the idea of a slab album. But then I'd likely prefer one grading house over others. Being an perfectionist can be expensive.
I have two 08's one regular date one "s" both are ms 63BN and appear to be in better shape that the one posted. (I gave it a 63 because I am not sure due to lighting) Anyway, nice IHC. Stay Safe
Here you go guys... It's only a 62bn but I honestly believe it's at least slightly undergraded and judging by the answers i've gotten I might just be right this time and considering it was part of a very LARGE submission (at least 597 coins lol) that is a possibility
In my experience NGC hates brown cents that don't pop. Even clean and well struck, if it isn't lustrous enough it gets the doghouse.
IN hand now.. not the best pics for details but they show the color much better.. now I have it in hand I would probably have called the reverse RB rather then BN and the obv has nice red highlights in the light... hard to capture in a pic, but hey I'm happy with it that's all that matters
Hey @Cheech9712 , the grade reveal is already posted. It's actually in the post directly above your guess FYI, I also guessed, incorrectly, MS64 BN
Well they had it in hand. Grading from pictures is less than ideal. Until I'm holding it I have to go with their assessment.
Same here. I've shown my 1909 NGC 64 twice before, but sorry to say this one's a few grades back, comparatively.
And you're gonna crack this out of an NGC slab for an album hole...??? Shakin' my head...but to each their own.
