Just won this very desirable piece (for me) on Ebay. These are becoming harder to find in MS grade. Mintage of 2,850,000, of which many were melted when the British left. An upgrade to my AU-58.

Zohar, here is my favorite coin from occupied Palestine. A 1972 silver image of a Mirage jet and a missile on the reverse, I think its a 10 Lett piece. I just love the stylized aircraft. Funny how it was the same year as the Munich Olympics. Traci :kewl:
I assume you mean the state of Israel as it is post. 1948 (statehood granted by the UN). The 1972 indeed was the year of the Munich Olympics terrorist act where 12 athletes were murdered in Olympic camp, executed by the PLO terrorists. Israel's Mossad had to seek revenge and with the exception of one perpetrator, all found their way to heaven. Prior to 1948 the land was occupied by British, Turks, French, Crusader, Roman, Jewish and Christian.
