I must admit the fugio was an impulse buy - the first one they have had at the coin shop. Probably overpaid, but do not care - I now have one. Then a plain old large date 1846 Braided Hair Large Cent. Enjoy - and as always all comments good and bad are welcome. Was in a rush and the coins came out a little darker than they really are. [
I've never gotten into pre-Federal coins. And considering my current interests and age, I probably never will. But that doesn't stop me from looking. And that normally sends me paging through my Red Book. And considering my collecting budget I don't really impulse buy. The closest I get to that is buying a coin in a higher grade than I intended because it looks SOOOOOO good. Nice coins.
That is a very nice Fugio Mark - quite pleasing for a first Fugio coin. You finally succumbed to Fugio fever! Those are amongs the most aesthetically appealing pre-federal coins IMO. Can't really see in the picture too well - is that a pointed rays, or or a club rays variety? If H.T was around he would attributed it already.
I have never seen a Fugio could you give some back ground. I love the 46 those large cents are sweet coins is this an EF? I only have one because I have only found one that i liked and it is a beauty. I will add more when the right one comes along.
Thanks All. See this link provide by Ryan Fugio Cents on more info on Fugio's. And Eduard I posted it on coin chat, but toad is out of town right now. I just really have not had time to study it. Looks like club rays to me, but could be wear - going to check heritage now since someone mentioned reverse S.
Those are nice coins. I had to have a Fugio some time back and was able to get one for my collection too. The 1846 cent looks to be a nice VF, the tall date variety.
