First off I am no Indian Head collector. my son was looking through what IHs we have and he noticed this. I told him it was a die chip but we just wanna make sure. The area in question is the right of the 9 and top left of the 4. Thanks again.
Hi, The first thing to mention is that it is dated 1894 and not 1864. The best part about this coin is that it exhibits a repunched date and is quite desirable. It is 1894 Snow-1 or Breen#2024 It is in the Cherrypickers' Guide to Rare Die Varieties. An early CP guide number is FS# 1c-011 Put it in a 2X2 and mark it at least with the Snow-1 designation! Nice find! It runs around $50.00 or so in this condition. Bill
LOL yeah woops again. Glad my wife is the teacher and not me! But seriously though, this is something?? That is great to hear!
