All of the half dollar boxes that I have ordered from banks have the half dollars wrapped in paper brinks rolls. My question is when you guys get boxes of halves, do the coins come in these same wrappers? or in different wrappers? Thank you
If the come from Wells Fargo than they are in a plain hand rolled wrapper. The others I get are in the String and Sons wrapper.
It depends on the source. I used to buy boxes of half dollars from US Bank and they all came in "US Bank" labeled rolls.
I do order mine from Wells Fargo but they are not hand wrapped, they are machine wrapped in tight paper brinks rolls; like the ones that can only be used once, unless you unroll the rounded edges on either end. Does this have any affect on the age of the halves that I'm getting?
I don't think it has any impact on the age. Brinks rolls whatever halves they get in...they don't get new halves from the mint. So, it's all luck of the draw.
my bank uses Loomis Armor Truck service. They use String & Son yellow wrappers here is a pic of the wrappers of my latest box to look thru and spend
ewww brinks sucks. Some people have OKAY luck with them... no one has great luck with them(at least that ive seen)
seems all the banks in my area always have customer wrapped rolls of cents and halves(when they have them), but I still find wheaties and 40% pretty often...once in a blue moon something 90%
