1669 spanish cob, 1746 mexican 8 REALES

    again i am new here, i am trying to sort out my grandfathers coin collection. he has so much but i found these i know what they are now at first i didnt but now it is hard to find a price for them because they are in good shape for there age. the first is a 1669 spanish cob coin it has a hole dilled in it (neckless??). the other odd one is a 1746 mexican 8 realas. i have found them from 200-800. what do you guys think?

    Please post pics of the side of both coins. They do appear to be genuine and the 1669 coin is also countermarked. I'll try and look that up as well.

    i will try to get the pics of the side, i have to scan them so it might come out bad but i will give it a try.

    The coin on the left is fake, the other coin looks genuine but nowadays it´s difficult to assert it only for photographs.

    how can you tell that ones fake? im still working on getting better pics of them,
    also i have another coin i will post up in a few. I have no idea what it is.

    Your "macuquina" is not struck, is a replica very bad, maybe it cast.

    Here I put a picture of a genuine 8 reales of Potosí. Although the date is other it isn´t important because all them are similar.

    Compare the pillars, the crown, the legend... it´s so different

    I disagree, based on the rev only of course I believe the coin is genuine. Details match up very well with coins of the same date found in Paoletti's book. Even the Central America counterstamp matches genuine examples. And I believe the coin is a Royal.

    Still want to see the obv.
