From what I have read these don't seem to have a big following, but I do wonder what this may be worth. Coin overall is in good shape maybe XF or better, just wondering if it's worth sending in to have slabbed? https://www.ngccoin.com/variety-plu...nts/shield-two-cents-1864-1873/816203/?page=1
That's a nice one, Could you possibly post pictures of both sides of the coin in full? Will help us determine if it is worth submitting
It seems that way, but is that a good witch or a bad witch? Some coins with errors go for more money but is this so common that no one cares or wants them?
No intention of selling, just to be noted by a decent grading company if I could do it for under $50.
I’m out now but it’s in good shape for sure but nothing earth shattering I’m just wondering if the messed up date is a pro or a con and by how much? errors isn’t something I know about.
There are several repunched date varieties on the 1864 2 cent. I doubt it would command much of a premium over a normal date coin. So you the price guide value for the normal date to determine whether or not it would be worthwhile or cost efficient for grading. My guess is that it isn't.
