I received one too. I think it's really good for shipping, but I'm not going to keep the coin in there long term.
You have a lot of wow factor coins. Now you have a case with a wow factor too. I picked up a similar box for this Semis.
I won my 2 Palms NewStyle from Roma and too was wowed by the presentation thus, I e-mailed ROMA and bought 60 of them from them and put them in a QUADRUM case. Can get 4 trays in and a few poked down the side. That will do for me. Look really good and I'm never frightened by damage to the 2000+yr old coins which I don't think will occur anyway-I'm personally not that precious!
These are called "magic frames" or "floating frames" https://www.lighthouse.us/magic-frame.html https://www.amazon.com/Joyce-Lindberg-Floating-Challenge-Medallions/dp/B07S3V9BGT
Roma Numismatics is a top notch organization. I have about a dozen of their boxes and several came in the presentation holder. I am watching their 4/15 e-auction now - got my eye on the Laelianus. Once I accidentally overpaid on a bid I won. Roma immediately refunded the over payment while I remained unaware of the overpayment.
I won 3 lots from Roma, and got them all in one box, inside plastic flips. They were three 40£ coins, though.
I won multiple lots in Auction XX that were also shipped with e-sale winnings, but didn't receive a package like that. I was surprised actually that my last sestertius from them didn't come in one of their frames. Instead it was in a vinyl flip with a significant tear, which surprised me a bit because it wasn't a cheap coin. From my experiences with them, most coins over 1,000 GPB are sent in those frames. It was still in a box with a velvet cushion, so I don't think there would have been any issues with the coin being damaged in transit, but it's not the most appealing presentation for a reasonably expensive coin. I guess we'll see when my coin from today's auction ships....
I’ve been using them for a while now. The only issue I’ve had is that after a period of time if the case isn’t laid flat the coin eventually moves or slides causing the plastic to scratch which then doesn’t make it look all that magical.
With pleasure. I got mine via Amazon, but are available on the bay! coin case CARGO L 6 for 90 QUADRUM-coin capsules, incl. 6 coin trays, black Brand: Leuchtturm1917 Product description Coin case CARGO L6 for 90 QUADRUM coin capsules or coin holders (50x50mm/ 2x2’’) Incl. 6 coin trays for 15 QUADRUM coin capsules or coin holders (50x50mm/ 2x2’’) each
I looked at the Lighthouse link posted above (as you know, I use the Quadrum system too), but the smallest square magic capsules there looked like they were 55x55mm. Your are 50x50, right? It would be surprising if Lighthouse doesn’t manage to get capsules fitting their standard.
This case is specially designed to hold the 50x50mm Quadrum capsules which also fit the 50x50 presentation holders that are supplied by the great people of ROMA Numismatics it just wont take 90 but 60 cos of their thickness over 4 trays is enough.
