1817 Large Cent - 13 stars

I have this 1817 - 13 stars( more common) Large Cent .
What Grade would you give it and possible Value ? Thanks in advance !

VF details around $30-$40ish.

 

I'd say between F15 & VF20, I think you could easily get $40 for it, possibly more

 

F15

 

Low vf $30-35

 

f-15 to maybe vf-20 on a good day. Surfaces look a bit pitted and somewhat rough. Might get 30 or so for it.

 

This coin was from a friend . I just wanted to know how generous they were / I appreciate the Gift after hearing the Values . Thanks Man .

Id say about vf nice example of the 13 star and the reason i say vf and not f is that Large cents tend to be graded a little more gently then say morgans

 

I'd call it F-15 to VF-20 for sharpness. But it is corroded so if you had it graded it would be a Details coin. I would call EAC Net Grade VG-08.

It would be about a $70-$80 coin without the surface problems. So, I'd say $40 is about right.

 

I say a F 15 about $45 - $50. Nice large cent even if it is only 13 stars!

 

Very nice eye appeal....maybe focus on that aspect?
