I have no idea how to grade these coins. This is my only one. It was my grandmother's, then passed to my dad, now it is mine. Obviously, it is not for sale....

What grade would you assign this coin? THANKS

I love the way these coins look when circulated. Although my grading skill of these coins is pretty limited to AU-MS range, I'll guess this one is somewhere in the high VF range, close to XF.

Yes....it is an awesome coin. I love it. I wish they still circulated....of course, it would have to be $500 not $5, lol...

Well, they certainly have a reputation for being difficult... but that's mostly in the higher grades. For a worn coin, it's not that much different than for other series. Just whup out the ANA Guide it go to town !

Mine's not handy, so I'll just guess VF20.

Congrats on a very special heirloom !

This coin shows why the idea of an incuse coin is so cool... it retains detail in a very different way.

I was thinking VF too, and very attractive with few marks.

the coin has been either shaved or cut down some way. The coin is incomplete. Look at liberty and look at The United States of America. It appears to run off of the coin.

thing is, they shouldn't be opposite each other on the coin, if so it would be medal turn and it's not, is it?

anyways, it looks suspicious to me because of the rim

    how does the reeding look?
