I have nearly a full run of US MINT Presidential Dollars rolls - Washington to Reagan P&D - that I’ve had for years. I wondering if they are worth selling for a premium over face value on eBay. I wanted to know if any other members have any experience with modern dollar rolls. I’m having second thoughts about just depositing them at my bank. Any direction would be greatly appreciated. In similar fashion, I had a complete set of P&D rolls of state quarters that I decided to unload. I ended up selling them for just a little over face value. If I were you, I'd rip open the rolls of Prez dollars and look for errors like "Missing Edge Lettering". Start with the earliest years, first, as the errors seem to turn up in those years the most. You might also want to check the NGC and PCGS census numbers to see if any year/mintmark is lacking higher grades. If you think you might have any that would grade MS68 or better, it might be worth your while to submit them for grading.
I have a bunch of them. I dump them out and use them as tips. They are only worth $1 each. When you buy anything from the mint you pay a premium that is very difficult to recover. I don't buy anything from the mint if I can find it in circulation.
Probably best to search the rolls yourself. A few have missing edge lettering and you may find one that will grade 68 or higher. Perhaps a strike through, cud, or off center.
