My Wife got these two coins in change . What are the odds ?? 2021 Quarter and a 1976 Italian L.50 coin .
Indeed, it will be end of year before we see anything except cents with the 2021 date on it down here. Another member here sent me the 2020 nickels last year, and we finally got our first one of those in change just the other day, so I ordered a pair of the new Washington Crossing the Delaware quarters from a guy on ebay, knowing that it might be forever before we actually see any in our change down here.
Where is "Down Here?" I needed the Tuskegee D & P to fill in the last 2 holes. I ended up buying them from Mount Vernon for about 2 bucks. The last holes of the States book were from the territories and I ended up buying those out of ebay. The Prices weren't bad and the quality was bad either. I had most of the "P" states but couldn't get the "D" states from change. I live in eastern North Carolina and I felt that Mint didn't send "D" state quarters to the eastern states. My brother lives in Southern California and I called him to see if he could send me the "D" state quarters. I told him I would pay him for them. He never replied. I don't know if he ignored me are died. My father left us his coin collection and it was divided between us. I made a list of the coins and divided them as best as I could. I gave him a list of both jars and told him to choose which one he wanted. He had possession of the coins and he sent me the one that he didn't choose. I thought that the division was equitable. That was in 1996. A couple of years ago, I asked him if he would sell them to me. The coins weren't much, based on the selection that I got. I offered him $1,000. No answer. I asked him how much he wanted. No answer. I don't know what's wrong with him. We have emailed and texted each other several times and although he responds to my emails/texts, he hasn't replied to my offers. Any ideas?
She got robbed. LOL Someone passed off a 50 lire worth about 15¢ on her. And people say Canadian coins don't pass well. LOL Country Italy Period Republic (1946-date) Type Standard circulation coin Years 1954-1989 Value 50 Lire (50 ITL) Currency Lira (1861-2001) Composition Acmonital I had to look up acmonital: Acmonital (Acciaio Monetale Italiano or Italian monetary steel) is a stainless steel alloy consisting mostly of iron, with 0.14% carbon, 17.5-19% chromium, 0.50% magnesium, 1.15% silicium, 0.03% sulfur, and 0.03% phosphorus by weight. Acmonital was used for the Italian Lira coins.
How did an Italian 50 Lira get into your change? Nice. Not only is the coin not in English, the denomination is way crazier than any American coins.
I still haven't seen a 2021 coin yet. I guess in smaller towns they aren't circulating yet. I could ask a bank though.
Yeah she would have gotten a better deal on a Canadian quarter if that was the intended change back. I think L.1500 (back when it was valid money) was about $1. They've been using the Euro for nearly 20 years like most of Europe.
No ideas about your brother, sorry, but I live in Louisiana. Which brings me to say that my wife made a liar out of me a few days ago when she handed me a 2021-P nickel. This is a first for me since it isn't even mid-April yet and I've already gotten a 2021 coin. Even stranger is that it came from Philadelphia, not Denver.
