Bought this on ebay on ebay for one reason , I thought it looked edited. But I cant seem to find any reference for it. here is the original aucion http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360187428884
that's what I was wondering , but that's the word that's missing in my edited post. I think it's time to move.
No, it wasn't. It was two words actually, the first was - bad, and the second had 3 letters and started with A.
Well, I was really curious because I believe Doug would not edit wording for something like using the word " neat" . Unbelievable!
Regarding the coin, the original was struck in .986 gold of course weighing 7gm. Austria makes many restrikes, even today, of their older coinage. The Austrian ducat, 4 ducat and the Maria Theresia Thaler are still being made every year. As for this one, the info in the auction description is probably accurate but I can find nothing in any book to confirm it. That is not unusual. In fact, were it not for a copy of a letter from the Director of the Austrian Mint that I have, I would not even know that the coins I mentioned above were still being struck today, for it is no book.
I saw one like this before, but I thought the horse on the reverse was a jackedited! Neat coin though!
The seller has great feedback. http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...sspagename=VIP:feedback&ftab=FeedbackAsSeller
I found the identification number for your piece. It's listed is Krause Unusual World Coins as X#M29a. Apparently it was struck sometime after 1963.
