Hello All. I just spotted this going through coins with my son last night. We think we found a 2009 Lincoln Penny with the DDR (on the thumb)? Not the rarest error, but we found it sifting through coins and it looks to be in real good shape. Whats the verdict? Thanks from the both of us. 20210409_135633.jpg 20210409_135645.jpg 20210409_135328.jpg

Looks like an early Die state of the Doubled thumb. Nice off center!

@Eric the Red It appears to be WDDR-043, seven finger variety and a "Best of Variety" in Wexler's files. Nice find for pocket change. Others here may not see the additional partial finger but it is also between the thumb and index finger.

Thanks. I added the negative black and white photos to try to bring out the other partial finger by eliminating that satin finish glare.

Thanks again Tommy for identifying. Coin Talk and it's members never cease to amaze me with their knowledge:)

You are very welcome. I spent a lot of time on this particular series from Philly. Being such a bold doubled die made this one a bit easier I must admit.
