Here is this weeks coin purchase. No silver, but I think I did ok. I paid $90 for the lot. A good starter set to upgrade from, or maybe hand it down to a grandkid.
I mean the 1908-S is $100 in G-4, so you’ve already paid for the lot. The 1859,1876, etc are also quite valuable. Idk total value but it’s in the several hundreds, probably
Right place, right time. He didn't want to mess with them. He had got them as part of a much larger lot of silver and scrap. I just happened to be there and shot him a lowball offer of $1 per coin without even doing more than just counting the number of coins, he countered and then we settled in between.
Awesome buy! The 59, 70, 72, 73, 76, and 08-S are all good looking coins from here and probably pay for the lot a couple times over. Buying these partially filled sets can be a great way to cherrypick. Get a good price per coin on the whole lot, pick the gems out, and resell the rest.
