caught this one minutes after it was posted as a bin for $15 that leaves me looking for the small letters and i got this trio done
The 7099 includes most of the "common" varities, but not all by a long shot... Oh and thats 35 head of 36 that got "flashed" out Also the 7099 is a tough album to get ahold of.. i've seen it selling as high as $200 empty..
Nice meaty 16 as for the ding, it's just that.. it got hit with something or slammed in a change drawer.. Thought it might have been a cud someone decided to try to polish off but no cuds listed for that location on a 16... so just PMD (post mint damage)
As I understand it, it's hard to find any DANSCO Albums, suspended manufacturing to move states, then shut down for covid and laid everyone off, so retailers can't get more of anything. they were moving everything pre-pandemic to Washington State, then the pandemic hit and it all just kind of went on hiatus or something.... At least that's what I've been able to figure out. I checked the Los Angeles address on google, it's closed down, and I know they were moving the operation since like 2019, So I guess they kind of got caught with their pants down, tight covid restrictions, and in a middle place between a shut down and reopen, where the view looked better to stay shut down rather than the financial outlay to get the move finished. Not like they haven't struggled with supply and demand since they came on the scene though. Seems like they were always backordered on something. Probably it's a small business situation, it's hard to tell really what kind of operation it is. Dansco Corp, the manufacturer address comes back to "DANSCO CORP is in the Paperboard Mills industry in Los Angeles, CA. This company currently has approximately 20 to 50 employees and annual sales of under $500,000." So it's sort of a book binding and covering, 3 ring binder, rigid cardboard stock type manufacturer, maybe milk or juice cartons, coffee cups, butter tubs, to go boxes . the albums may be one of many things they do, and the albums not even a priority to their bottom line. For all I know between the move and covid, they might have just decided to cash out and call it over. All the danscos are getting harder to get. Try finding a new, not used Dansco 7070. that's rough also.
