Coin insurance. Do you have any? If you do, who underwrote it for you? Did you add it as a rider on your homeowners or renters insurance policy?
I know of only one collector who says they have insurance, and they got theirs after a theft occurred at their home.
If you do have insurance, did you have to submit a current inventory of your collection along with pictures to prove you had them?
Any information on this subject would be helpful. I believe my personal collection is just now reaching critical mass that needs two things, 1) a very good fireproof safe and 2) insurance covering acts of God and theft.
    Thanks.

Do you have to tell them what coins you have ?

Nope - you do not. They don't even care - unless you have individual coins valued at $10,000 or more each. You tell them what amount of insurance you want - they tell you how much it cost - you send the payment - you're insured ;)

I will try and find the information on an insurance company, that we checked in to a couple of years ago, as ALL they insure are collectables. Riders on your home owners is a pain in the butt and they want to know everything there is to know about what you collect, where you got it, where you intend to store it, ect.... Thats not for me.
This other company needs only the amount of coverage you need, no inventory and no pictures. They do require, in the event of a loss, that you can prove, by way of receipts, that you were actively involved in the hobby. They also automatically add a cost of living and cost of replacement increase of 1% on your maximum every month for the duration of the policy. It is recommended that you take out insurance to replace the coins if stolen or destroyed. Really a great offering that we just have not got around to doing just yet. Will see what I can find out.

I think it was this one Richard - Click Here

I checked them and several others out years ago - I decided to pass when I found out all the things they didn't cover.

But a quick Google search for Collectibles Insurance will bring up over 12,000 hits.

The link I already provided is the best IMO.
