a collector came past my table and showed me what i feel is not only the coin deal of the show, maybe of the year.

he had a very gem 1920 Mercury dime, 20 over 20. a dealer with 40+ years experience siad in all that time he has only seen three. today was the third! we told the new owner to run over to PCGS and get it certified. this variety is not listed in the 1st edition of lange's book - not sure if it is listed anywhere else.

anyone care to comment on what i think is quite the find.

interesting, and I'd love to see it.

I presume that it was not strike doubling?

Very interesting, I've never heard of it. I checked CONECA Online, no DDO listed there. Nothing in Cherrypickers' either.

the only doubling is on the date. it's a great find and i would think it will fetch top dollar if certified.

goes to show that there are plenty of hidden treasures out there.
