well, it was really slow yesterday during the dealer day/public in at 2pm session. we managed to sell a few things and buy a few things. not a great first day, but it was acceptable. today was match better, but there really wasn't much of a crowd. around 3pm it's as if someone flipped a switch and everyone was gone by 4pm. had a chance to talk with a new collector and it was nice to see the energy and excitment. hoping tomorrow is strong - i like busy days.
Thanks for the update, I thought long and hard about driving to visit my daughter in MD just to visit that show. But needed to conserve my funds for the Michigan State Numismatic Society show in a couple of weeks. Sounds like a lot to see and drool over.
had a strong buy today - Canadian 1911 one cent in MS64 RD (NGC holder). it's a common coin, but it has some eye appeal. no pictures tonight, it's in the case (and hopefully won't come home tomorrow). was handed a bag of misc. foreign and i decided to pass on the buy at $5.00 - the owner came back and then offered it for free if i gave it to my son. my son is very excited to catalogue some new world coins of course the gentlemen will get a nice discount on his next few purchases saw two future collectors - one was 5, and she was said she couldn't do the kids coin grab, so we helped her and her younger sister out. both were very happy. felt good to bring a smile to their bright faces. got to met Charmy today and looked at a really nice VF 1922 weak D she recently picked up. very nice lady with some awesome copper!
i'll be there around 10am with my son - should be there until about 1:30 or so - swing past table 1000 and say hello!
