The reason for the steps was a grease filled die.
There is technically luster on the high points.
This is one of the few examples that most in the early days would automatically put this coin into the Brilliant Unc category,
I for one think this coin Is Gem++.
    The surfaces are amazing.

Out the gate again, you are hot my friend!!

My photos don't really do the reverse color justice, it is much more vibrant in hand.

    You nailed another one Eddie!

I want everyone to know something. This is my very first star designation from NGC. I have submitted dozens of rainbow toned Jeffersons (many better than this) to no avail, but I finally have a star designation under my belt. My hope is that now that I have broken my cherry, they won't be so hard to get in the future.

I mentioned that there was a bonus. Most people think the coin is star worthy and NGC agreed, but many of us believe that the coin should enjoy its original grade from ANACS.

Morgandude11 As long as it's Silver, I'm listening

Combine the two. It should have been a 67* from NGC.

I think at auction this is easily a $75 coin, could even be higher. I think both these grades say that.

I paid $63 and then $25 for NGC grading fee, but I was expecting MS67*.

I think those big hits on the hair and face prevented it from a 67.
