My uncle apparently invested in a large amount of gold and platinum eagles, some in a 4 coin set, others just singles, but all are in plastic cases rated mostly ms69, some ms70. Can anyone give me a reputable dealer that would buy these coins in this kind of quantity? Also, are they worth more than the actual weight price because they are graded? I am acting as executor for his will and this is one of those things. Thanks in advance for any help.
I'd be interested in seeing people feedback on this, I do know there are a few dealers that frequent this board and I'm sure they'd be willing to provide input. AFAIK a "proof" platinum common coin commands around a 30% premium to the bullion value. You could get more for uncommon dates, the late 2000 coins. Depending on how many are available, I'd recommend Ebaying the coins. Seems on Ebay people are willing to pay higher premiums. I'd have to guess a dealer would pay spot if you have a large amount to unload. PG
