I dunno, Bacchus.... I can see it now:

PRESENTING: The Presidential Goldfish Coin Series, featuring Floppy from President Hoover, Goldy from Franklin Roosevelt, and Washington's famous pet goldfish KillthemercenariesatTrenton, which, ironically is where he got the idea to kill the mercenaries at Trenton!

    I kinda like the idea....!

    :D  :p

Oh my, a horrible thought!!! Bill Clinton could make two appearances. First as 42nd Pres and then if, and this is a great big if, if Hillary is elected President in her own right, then Bill, all dolled up in his best sundress, would also make an appearance on the first spouse gold issues

Don't be too hard on bank tellers. I mean seriously, how many "normal" people actually use half dollars? The only reason I do is to see the confused look on the cashiers face when I hand them over. Two dollar bills can be a lot of fun too. I can't even tell you how many times people have tried to give me change for a twenty. I still smile every time.

Not many people know about Clinton allowing our technology to be sold to china at rock bottom prices. That is where there space program and long range missles got its jump.

I don't know of any front runner who would make a good president right now but I always had the though line that most presidents were so so at best which is why only a few made the coins and bills in the first place.

Or, as someone once said 30 years ago, "You have to be crazy to want to be president. That's why we get crazy presidents."

Bill passed the house in June. Senate will vote on their version this fall.
    Status: Scheduled for Debate
This bill was considered in committee which has recommended it be considered by the Senate as a whole. Although it has been placed on a calendar of business, the order in which bills are considered and voted on is determined by the majority party leadership.
    Introduced: May 17, 2005
Last Action: Jul 29, 2005: Placed on Senate Legislative Calendar under General Orders. Calendar No. 190.

Its a done deal because 71 of the 100 senators have signed on as cosponsors

Senate Act 1047, HR 902. House bill has already passed. Senate Bill has made it out of committee and is on the calendar- will come up when senate leadership (ie Frist) determines. I haven't read them to see if there are differences that would need to be resolved between 2 versions of the bill.

That would be bad enough, but it was even worse. The technology that was sold to them was banned for sale for reasons of national defense. But a buddy of Clinton's had the deal set up and got Bill to sign a wavier reguarding the sale of restricted technology so he was able to sell the missle info to the Chinese.

Don't count on that. Every bill has to have more 50 co-sponsers to be submitted. You don't see them passing every bill though do you? No, it could still get voted down, sent back to committee, or just allowed to die from inaction.

I love the idea, but don't think they would circulate alot. The Teddy coin would be the best IMO.
