I checked the mailbox yesterday and was happy to see my coins in a perfectly packaged mailer from Leu Numismatik...

    First one:

Constantine VII Porphyrogenitus, with Romanus I and Christopher, 913-959. Miliaresion. Constantine was the fourth Emperor of the Macedonian dynasty reigning from 6 June 913 to 9 November 959. He was the son of Emperor Leo VI and his fourth wife, Zoe Karbonopsina, and the nephew of his predecessor Emperor Alexander. He was known as a scholar and the epithet "born in the purple" refers to his birthplace in the Imperial chamber adorned with the purple stone porphyry. Much of his reign was covered by regencies, first under his mother and later under Romanus I.

    Second one:

Constantine X Ducas, 1059-1067. He was the founder and first ruling member of the short-lived Doukid dynasty. During his reign, the Normans took over much of the remaining Byzantine territories in Italy while in the Balkans the Hungarians occupied Belgrade. He also suffered defeats by the Seljuk sultan Alp Arslan. Somewhat unhealthy throughout his reign, he died in 1067 at the age of 61.

I got this one in a group lot. It only weighs 1.6gm and is 20mm, I believe it is a John I but I have not matched it yet.

Aside from that one, here is one I bought recently from the same Leu auctions. It was a type I was looking for, which has a good bit of the Abbasid dirhem showing...

Byzantine Empire: Constantine VI & Irene (780-797) AR Miliaresion, Constantinople (Sear 1595; DOC 4b)
Obv: IҺSЧS XRISTЧS ҺICA; Cross potent set on three steps

This coin was overstruck on an Abbasid dirhem

@ancient coin hunter, great additions to your collection.

My Byzantine collection is growing as I am typically quite surprised how reasonably priced they are compared to Roman Imperial which is the core of my collection.

I have quite a few Byzantine coins but very few pictures of them, here are the ones that I have pictures of.

    Constantine X Hist Nomisma.jpg
CONSTANTINE X 1059 - 1067 AD, OBV. CHRIST ENTHRONED, "+ his xis rex regnantilm" REV. CONSTANTINE STANDING FACING HOLDING GLOBUS CRUCIFIX" . WELL STRUCK AND OF FINE SYLTE. DOC-1A; SEAR - 1847. 4.37g 26mm

    Capture 2.JPG
    BASIL I 867-886 AD, MILIARESION S.1708; BMC 6-7; R.1860; 2.83g

I also had some success at the latest Leu Numismatik auction with my Pescennius Niger (that I have shared on here numerous times since)

    48-3 (1).jpg

Pescennius Niger, Roman Emperor from 193-194 AD, Silver Denarius (2.98g, 21mm), struck at Antioch 193 AD. Obverse: Laureate Head of Pescennius Niger facing right, legend around, “IMP CAES C PESE NIGER IVSTI AV”. Reverse: Jupiter seated facing left on backless throne, holding sceptre in left hand and Victoria, who holds spear and wreath, in his right, legend around, “IOVI PRAE ORBIS”. As Sear-6111 (different legend); RSC-43b var.

    Congrats, @ancient coin hunter
It’s always nice to receive a letter from the Leu:)
I got one too recently, and was quite happy with the content.
It didn’t contain any coins of your two mentioned rulers, and nor does my collection, though. But now they’re on the want-list at least.

I did however receive a small Nero quadrans that I’d like to share:

    Nero quad.jpg

    Nero, 54-68. Quadrans , Rome, circa 65.
Obverse: NERO CLAV CAE AVG GER Crested helmet set to right on column; behind, transverse spear; to right, round shield bearing gorgoneion.
    Reverse: IMP P P P M TR P / S - C Olive branch.
    Reference: BMC p. 256 note. Cohen -. RIC 317.
    Copper, 15 mm, 2.00 g, 1 h

What I find intriguing about this coin, is that I think there is something looking like a theatre mask lying to the right of the column.
