So I was going to try and get back into the coin business starting out by selling on ebay. My friend/mentor dennis was going to help me as he deals in error coins. We will split the profits 50/50, and I will learn alot about error coins. I got the digital blue microscope but it will not install on my computer because i have an AMD processor. Before I bought the dino lite, I decided it would be wise to check the specs to see if it would work on my computer. It says here:http://www.microscope.com/dinolite-am311sam311st-03mp-digital-microscope-p-514.html that I need a Pentium 4 1.5 Ghz processor. However my computer has an AMD processor, not pentium. So therefore it wouldn't work on my computer correct? My dad says I can buy and build my own computer cheap now through tiger direct and make a really nice one (He is a computer whiz) Has anyone else got a dino-lite that works with a AMD processor on the computer? Thanks
I'm no computer genius but if your computer is even a few years old regardless of what processor you have AMD or Intel it should work. Did it come with a CD (Software) that you need to load first?
The digital blue came with a CD. I ran the CD and whenever that happens the computer re-boots, it can't handle it. I'm hoping the dino-lite will work for my computer but I have to be sure before I buy it. Or else I'll just have to save up for a new computer. Thanks for the response
From a dino-lite manual ================================================ Dino-Lite Handheld Digital Microscope User’s Manual System Requirements ● PC’s system requirements: OS: Windows 98se, 2000, XP CPU: Pentium IV 1.5G, Celeron, AMD Athlon or above ============================================= SO it should work. Have you tried it ? Maybe the USB ports can be a problem rather than the hardware. Jim
The title of the section you are reading is "Minimum System Requirements". It does NOT say that it will only work with Intel Pentium 4 1.5G MHz. I am nearly positive that the requirement is that it must be capable of maneuvering the picture LIVE. It takes at least the much processing power to do that. Your father should be able to tell you what your system is and if it has as much power as it needs. If not, call the company.
Floating in my memory is that I have read of some computer and scopes rebooting. They found the software would not install properly if the dino lite is plugged into the computer before installing the software. They removed the corrupted drivers and rebooted, installed the software and then plugged in the scope. Jim
Haven't bought it yet, thanks though good to hear that. I want to make sure all my bases are covered before I spend the money on it.
.....this site has a lot of stuff on the dino-lite. perhaps you'll find it helpful. http://www.microscope.com/dinolite-buyers-guide-t-17.html
Hi: I am also looking to buy a dino lite or I was. I have been talking with a reseller and he sent me some coin pics and I was not that impressed with the quality of the images as compared to a digital SLR with MAcro lens image. The dino images did not appear to be as sharp and clear as the image taken with a digital SLR. I have not talke d to Wayne about this but plan to soon. Any way, I was impressed with Wayne. You may want to talk to him before you buy. Wayne Emery The Gemcutter "Bending Light Since 1975" Wayne_Emery@msn.com www.thelittlecameras.com (563) 355-0891
My digital Blue QX5 works well on my Sony Vaio with an AMD CPU. Try another USB port. Try an uninstall it reinstall and then plug in your Digital Blue. Bruce
