OK, well not struck of gold but rather of pot metal. Still, the strike exceptional and fairly rare in that it is one of the King's Norton specimen coins that was particularly well and attractively struck. I love the simple artwork of the interlinked Victoria Lilies on the reverse and the simple heraldic Cocrico birds on the obverse:

There is no mention of a specimen strike in the Catalogue of world coins and no record of any 1 cent coins being struck in 1990.
Yes, this is from the KN hoard that was routed through Karl Stephens and others...Maybe it is more rare than I thought though..I also have 1971, 1981, 1988 one cent specimen coins & some of the five cents also.Here is a compressed picture off the PCGS pop site. That is the place to look for these (total pop is 9, probably all from the hoard, or most were slabbed). There are other countries that came from this source as well.
