I sold a Lincoln set. A buyer used the BIN feature and ended the auction early. I send an invoice and three days later he sends me an email saying that he was involved in an accident and won't have the money until the 18th. I did say that he would give me 20 now for my fees and I can re-list. What you all do? I am leaning to believing his story and waiting until the 18th. I really have nothing to loose buy doing it, I think.

That's only a week. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt. There are lots of sellers who allow up to 10 days for a buyer to pony up with the funds. I think the guy's probably being straight with you....about not having the funds until then anyway.

I've had similiar experiences over the years every time but once they paid when they said they would I'd wait.

I am not so much of a cynic either. Give him the week. That is only 7 days from now.

I would probably wait, given the alternatives.

Isn't it amazing, though, how many people on eBay get into accidents/become ill/have Grandma die/have a sick dog/were out of town on business/had their computer break down/had power out.............et cetera............?

I sold a banjo to a guy....who HIMSELF died that night. Never got paid....never got my final value fee refunded either. The executor wouldn't cancel the transaction.

eBay does nothing. You have to file as a non paying buyer. Never been there with the new system, but it should cost you nothing when it is over except a little time.

I've always been real easy going about it, but it's only happened a couple of times to me. I've been really lucky over the years.
Inform eBay and they will credit you your fees.
