Does anyone understand the US Mint schedule?

The 2021 ASE Proof West Point issue was sent out and received in February. The schedule calls for the S mint to be released in the Summer. The schedule also calls for a W mint to be issued in the Summer. Is this a second or different ASE?

The description on the US Mint site is of the current design.

I think the "S" and "W" will feature the new reverse, or T2 as it is being called.

I noticed this too a while ago. I just keep reading things from the mint but it seems everything changes anyway. What a shame

I see the typical non-committal government agency. Most of us have lots of questions. One of mine is, if you have ASE's on your Enrollment feature, will you get the new design? I'm sure that the mint will come up with a gimmick to get a special release out that most people will miss, or not recognize until it goes premium at the large dealers.

This is exactly why this is my last year of collecting ASE's and Quarters. My ASE collection will end with this stuff put in a safe place.

Cool pictures. I have no doubts that the new design will be gobbled up pretty quickly. I hope I can get one but know it probably won't happen anyway.

here are my ASEs. Most of my silver is in ASEs just because I try to get one a year. Rarely I buy junk silver, although I adore it. I just never had the monies.

The 1997 was a gift from my grandfather. They have it to him in 1997 for something like 30 years with General Electric. The original case I had it in was cracked (my pappy isn't too careful lol) and it started to tone with a chewing tobacco spit tone. Mostly on the edges.

It is not like you asked for any of this information, but I'm bored and my roommate is asleep so here I am.

I am just happy that I never got hooked on this stuff I don’t have to worry about it. The mint used to put an issue schedule up on-line. Does that no longer exist?

I don't even bother with the mint any longer. It's all dealer oriented and the individual gets what's left, bull caca!

That is why this is my last year. The sooner coin collectors recognize how the mint is in bed with the dealers, the sooner it will change.

The mint has a schedule posted. My query here is an attempt to get some interpretations of that schedule.

    @Inspector43
I notice that the item number for the T1 rev looks like this for the proof W "21EA"
and for the type 2 "21EAN"
So I conclude the "N" is referring to the "T2" reverse.

Why is the mint so far behind...for example, releasing some of last year's (dated 2020) coins as far as late this year, and so-on...?

Covid the mint is technically still closed its hard enough to get boxes from the bank. Before this i could get 10 per week 2× five days now im down to one most of the time.

I thought the same, but there is no way to confirm. We will have to wait until we miss an item to get clarification.

I had the 2021W ASE T1 on my enrollment, which I didn't have to do anything. It just showed up. (I did get some emails about it, tho.) Before I got it, I asked whoever it was on line if the new ASE would be honored with my enrollment. I was told that it would not and that I would have to buy it on line. So if you want to buy it, you will have to be "Johnny on the spot." when it is available. I probably will have to buy it from a dealer (scalper). I have the ASE-S on my enrollment as well as the Uncirculated ASE. I doubt they will honor those.
There are 2 issues that the Mint has now with their "new" administration. They want to keep the Proof ASEs production low so that they can keep the price high. I have an email from them somewhere telling me that they have been given "orders" to make money to pay the costs associated with the sale of Mint products. The price is going up because the price they have to pay for precious metals has been going up (and down, and up an down). Your have to have a crystal ball to keep up with the price of precious metals.
Also, they won't admit it, but the bulk of the money they earn is from the dealers and they don't want to compete with them. This past month, I have seen on HSN, Rick and other dealers selling the Proof ASE T1 that has been graded Proof 70 Ultra Cameo for over $600. The sell the bullion ASEs with a price from $150 to $300. They have been graded and the sell them as MS69-MS70. Some go higher.
My advice, take your time to buy the new ASEs. It may be a year or two, but the prices will go down sometime next year when the new ASE T2s are being sold. They will need to get rid of the "old stock". Best of luck to ya'll.

I am in the same boat as you, exactly. Your summary above also explains why I am done with the US Mint. I have all the first series of ASE. I want one of the new type and then I'm done. No more quarters. I got one Innovation coin, the 2018. That is it. Since I only want one of the new type, it doesn't matter which one.
