Ring on Eisenhower Dollar

    Is this post mint damage? Any idea what causes the ring near the rim on the obverse and reverse?

    It looks like it was caused by a coin wrapping machine.

    Why would a coin wrapping machine leave a mark on BOTH sides of the coin?

    expat Remember you are unique, just like everyone else

    The obverse ring is aligned with the bottom of the lettering, the reverse ring aligned with the top edge of the lettering. If, in it's lifetime, the coin has been through a wrapping machine twice it might explain it
