This small AE15 has a really lovely and extraordinarily clear caduceus reverse with BYZANTION. Hermes appears to be one of the least-represented deities in the entire pantheon. It's tough enough to find him on a reverse, even tougher to find him on the obverse. 15mm 1.9g Anepigraphic. Winged diadem bust right. BYZAN-TION. Winged caduceus. Show off your Hermes, or deity-obverses!
Whoa, I enjoy your threads but 5 little threads is kind of a lot for one day. Etiquette for posting would be one or two at most a day. You just knocked 5 threads that folks worked hard on into the oblivion of page two. Please post more to others threads and do this less. That is all I'll be contributing here.
Sorry, i'll go ahead and comment and like as much as I can on other posts to knock my posts to page two.
All good buddy. I recieved the same feedback a few years ago and have tried to limit my threads vs posts. Nothing wrong with being passionate about ancients
A "sort of" Hermes: CILICIA, Olba. Ajax. High Priest, AD 10-15. Æ (21mm, 6.89 gm, 9h). Dated RY 2 (AD 11/12). Obv: AIANTOΣ TEYKPOY, Draped bust of Ajax (as Hermes) right, wearing pileos; kerykeion to right. Rev: APXIEPEΩΣ / TOΠAPXOY / KENNAT / ΛAΛAΣΣ; (ET A), Winged thunderbolt. RPC 3728; SNG France 802-5 . Teucer, after the death of Ajax in the Trojan War, was banished from his home island of Salamis and founded a new Salamis on Cyprus. A branch of the family then moved on to Cilicia, according to tradition."
