Found on Coinsweekly: A Bulgarian trucker trying to enter UK with hidden Ancient artefacts and 45 Byzantine coins was arrested at the British customs. The Kent police investigate and gave an estimate of the smuggled goods. Here is the challenge: can you guess what was the police department estimation for the whole lot ???
My guess is that the police valued it at approximately $50,000 or whatever the British equivalent is. I feel like they'd do something insane like that
It might be worth, total, $200. Those who want to make it seem a big deal are likely to value it at much more. I'll be curious to hear how much more.
I can't see if there are any valuable rare coins, but they look ordinary to me. Don't know anything about the value of the antiquities: a tiny sculpture and is that other piece a key? Police would come with an enormous value, but $1000 would seem reasonable to me.
I could easily add any of those coins to my collection and I am a bottom feeder. That's why I figured they probably valued them something astronomical.
HINT: the experts of Coinsweekly evaluated the 45 coins around 500 euros(on a lucky day) and the two antiquities at 100 euros each. Until now, @furryfrog02 is the closest...but way too low... Anyone else want to try ?
200,000£. And I bet that's light compared to what US police would make up. They do things differently over here
Another HINT: the poor innocent trucker will be able to play monopoly full time for the next 2 years...
Come on! You can do better than that. And don't forget, this price will be yours.........if THE PRICE IS RIGHT !
A million euros! Because everyone knows that worn Byzantine coins are worth 100 x their weight in heroin or meth. People melt them and inject them , I hear.
