I have had this Canadian penny in my collection since 1985 about when I first started collecting coins. I had to play around with the lighting a bit in the last pic so you can see Queen Elizabeth's figure from the front of the coin Imprinted through the coin onto the back in reverse matching the orientation from the front ( In the last photo here ) I found it in change at a gas station I worked at 5 miles from the Canadian border. I have seen US coins with a "Waffle" error but never a Canadian coin, nor can I find any error like this anywhere on a Canadian penny. It is only 1.3 grams, which it should be close to 3 grams.
It has a rim on the back side and you can see Queen Elizabeth's figure from the front of the coin Imprinted through the coin onto the back in reverse matching the orientation from the front
That thought crossed my mind, its relatively smooth and the lines on the reverse can be seen on the front as well as queen elizabeth from the front on the back in reverse. would a split planchet do this ?
Welcome Mark. From your photos, I really can't tell, but then I'm not the expert on errors, paddyman98 is, along with @Fred Weinberg and @JCro57 and a few others. Maybe they can weigh in.

Definitely not a "waffle error" that's for sure. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/CANADA-1-CE...321410?hash=item2cf2b22202:g:gDcAAOSwbsNdVXmJ https://www.ebay.ca/itm/No-Date-Can...038291?hash=item3b3f1e9113:g:ecQAAOSwbb5eAU5Y My guess, it may be along one of these lines, However, they are asking much less for them than you and they aren't selling, and theirs are authenticated and graded, although, one of the TPG companies I've never heard of and can't say if it's a legit TPG or not. I'll also tell you this, you have to get the pictures in focus if you intend to sell it any where near comparable prices even, never mind the $1000 price tag. Sold listings for split planchets, authenticated/graded, they sell for like $40-$70 if they do sell.
