. . . just laying on the sidewalk. Nothing special, just good condition, but it's neat that I could tell it was an older cent just due to the color of the copper. To think: when that circulated, in its prime it was rattling with Indian Head cents, Buffalo nickels and perhaps even a 1909 S VDB.
Isn't it great living in a country where circulating coins are among the oldest circulating coins anywhere? I have found some early Lincolns, the two earliest are a plain 1909, and a 1909 VDB in roll searches in the last year.
