Learning about RPMs, are these rpms and why or why not?

    I'm having difficulty identifying Repunched mintmarks.
    I thought these two coins would be an example if someone can help me out a little bit.
    If these are just normal coins or what causes the s to look like that.

    The first two are 1972 and the second two are 1973, they are shinies. Not proofs. Pretty sure, no proof like cameo.

    All mint marks were hand punched pre-1989 and more chance of a RPM occurring as the link @thomas mozzillo has provided .

    Almost looks like a small die chip inside the MM, just IMO.

    Is it possible that the mint mark punch they used to punch the die was worn out?

    Sorry it's been a long day I will post photos later when I'm able to I appreciate the information already I didnt know mint marks were hand punched at one point
