I had a pair of shows this weekend. I picked this guy up at a dealers table.

    It's an N-11 R1.

A common piece but in great shape... and look at the late die state... I thought it was neat.

That is cool. Normally, such a late die state would show cracks and buckling - parts of the central design and legends suffer. But not so with this one. Liberty and the wreath are nice and crisp.

    Great coin ! :thumb: Congrats.

Very cool coin with nice details. Does the coin match the color of the pictures?

I really like the metal flow lines.
And the spikes(?) from the stars to the rim.
Best example of a late die state I've ever seen.

What a sharp central strike! You can see practically every detail!

Going only from the photos, I suspect the color/surfaces have been smoothed out at one time -- as the color is a bit too even to be believable -- but it appears to be a good recoloring job and very common on copper from this time period.

Very nice coin. Congrats on the NEWP...Mike

Nice find!!! It puts my 1817 to shame.

Now that you mention it, I don't even have one -- 1817 and 1825 are the only dates that I don't have yet.

    I don't have an 1817.
My large cent of that design is a 1820, Large Date.

That's a great cent. I love the spiked stars.

Very very nice coin, (and the photos are not so bad either!)

I don't think that coin has seen any circulation. Beautiful. A year which I am still missing as well.

I got it as close as I could having the coin in hand... The luster present highlights my lights... but yes, very close.
